Eyam, December 22nd 2010
Eyam Carollers were out singing round the village on Wednesday 22 December and collected £122.42 which will all go to support Weston Park Hospital via PACT (Parents and Children Trust). Since the village tour was started in the late 1990s, over £1000 has been collected and donated to charity.
The Truth About Carols, December 19th 2010
Another repeat (BBC4, 8pm) for Howard Goodall's programme on carol singing traditions, including a lengthy segment from Worrall recorded in 2008.
Songs of Praise, December 5th 2010
A seasonal episode of BBC1’s weekly programme, with the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus singing Christmas music, including a couple of local carols, Hark, Hark! and Christians, Awake!, and the programme will also contain footage from a sing at the Blue Ball, Worrall (recorded November 21st 2010).
New DVD!
Mike Harding has released a DVD, Christmas in Yorkshire, with contributions from the Ecclesfield carollers (recorded 2009). Available from behind the bar at the Black Bull (and on amazon etc.).
New CD!
Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir accompanied Stannington Brass Band to record some of our local carols. The CD will be available from end October 2010 from Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir or Stannington Brass Band.
